We work closely with a 300 year old mill in Sudbury, Essex. We have the utmost respect for their approach to making fabrics, their knowledge and experience and work closely with their team to develop our fabrics.
We use 100% hand picked Egyptian cotton that meets industry regulations for environmental safety, ethical production and the use of non - harmful chemicals. We blend the cotton with a Viscose flax, which stems from natural fibres and is processed in order to meet the qualities and abrasion required to satisfy European industry standards for both manufacture and use.
Our products are made locally to us in South East London in small batches so as much as we can, we reduce the movement of our items and the possibility of generating unnecessary energy and material waste.
Our cushions are filled with British wool, supporting the UK farming industry. Wool is naturally hypoallergenic and biodegradable, filled into an organic cotton inner pocket. Wool is lightweight but gives a firm and stable feel.

Taking a playful approach to colour and form, the two London-based design studios are looking to add a little extra joy to living spaces this winter. The collection has been designed to add into the eclectic nature of how we shop for, and curate, our homes; each piece can be enjoyed on its own or as part of a set to quietly elevate our everyday life.
The collection entails tumblers, highballs and a vase with three accompanying screen prints. Staying true to CUSTHOM’s ethos of considerate making, the vessels are formed from recycled glass supplied by revered glassware brand, LSA International. Locally-sourced clear jars and bottles are sorted, crushed and heated in the furnace until molten. The skilled glassblower gathers, shapes and then blows the molten glass into a mould to form the tumbler. Air bubbles will occur as part of this 100% recycled and handmade process.

The COUNTER collection centres around sharing; a meal, a coffee, a conversation.
Using a range of stoneware clays, CUSTHOM has developed this breakfast set over the last few years, paying attention to the small details, exploring the form and investing time in the materials they choose to make with.
Jemma Ooi, co-founder at CUSTHOM, comments: “We want these pieces to be enjoyed, shared, loved, gifted and cherished. To hold your favourite flavours, to encourage traditions, or to be the starting point to newly formed rituals and simple pleasures.”

Research and explorations into the benefits of a tactile surface have lead us to develop a hard wearing stitch technique using thread through paper. Working with a British embroidery house, we are able to embroider directly onto non-woven fire retardant wallpaper, using polyester for high shine to ceramic cotton threads for a flat Matt finish.
The needlework provides a delicate and intricate craftsmanship to the wall coverings. Inviting to the touch and adding tonal elements of a single thread colour dependent on the angle of the viewer. This process has considerably less wastage than any print method and is solely made in the United Kingdom.

The Contour stool has been made collaboratively with designer/maker Tom Collison. We really like Tom’s approach to creating organic, soft, comfortable forms and share his admiration of nature and respect for materials. We have long admired Tom's approach to working and saw this collaboration as an exciting opportunity to see what could be created collectively.
The stool is created using an Ash frame, sustainably sourced from an English timber merchants, hand carved and finished in Tom's London studio.

This sparked our interest in exploring boundaries, visual communication and behaviour in recreational spaces. This inquiry resulted in Contour, a graphic exploration of line and movement, capturing the energy and playfulness of people navigating sports courts.

The Oblique collection was developed through the dissection and reduction of blocks of text. Taking influence from the mail art movement in Berlin in the early 1970’s a web of information has evolved into the interweaving of lines in irregular blocks which gently touch and overlap. Explored through print,the oblique ceramics collection is silk screen printed onto a Vitrified porcelain, this the most durable of dinnerware, fired at a very high temperature, these plates are elegant and durable and will not absorb liquids.
This collection is dishwasher and microwave safe, however the pieces are printed with a very matt graphic, therefore please use Stainless steel cutlery as to not to affect or scratch the print.

Using a range of stoneware clays, CUSTHOM has developed this breakfast set over the last few years, paying attention to the small details, exploring the form and investing time in the materials they choose to make with.

Taking a playful approach to colour and form, the two London-based design studios are looking to add a little extra joy to living spaces this winter. The collection has been designed to add into the eclectic nature of how we shop for, and curate, our homes; each piece can be enjoyed on its own or as part of a set to quietly elevate our everyday life.
The collection entails tumblers, highballs and a vase with three accompanying screen prints. Staying true to CUSTHOM’s ethos of considerate making, the vessels are formed from recycled glass supplied by revered glassware brand, LSA International. Locally-sourced clear jars and bottles are sorted, crushed and heated in the furnace until molten. The skilled glassblower gathers, shapes and then blows the molten glass into a mould to form the tumbler. Air bubbles will occur as part of this 100% recycled and handmade process.

Product Care
• Vitrified porcelain can be washed in a dishwasher - at a maximum temperature of 60°C. However, where precious metals are used ware should only be hand washed.
• Stubborn stains can be removed by soaking in a mild bleach solution for up to one hour without damaging the china. Scouring pads or abrasive washing agents must not be used. Soaking in warm water before washing will remove most stains or hardened on particles.
• When storing plates, try not to slide them over one another as this may cause tiny scratches in the glaze. We recommend a paper napkin is placed between each plate.
