Observing how people move, play and behave when adhering to the rules of the drawn line sparked our interest in exploring boundaries, visual communication and behaviour in recreational spaces. This inquiry resulted in Contour, a graphic exploration of line and movement, capturing the energy and playfulness of people navigating sports courts. Created at two scales as screen printed wallpaper and woven fabrics.
We work closely with a 300 year old mill in Sudbury, Essex. We have the utmost respect for their approach to making fabrics, their knowledge and experience and work closely with their team to develop our fabrics.
We use 100% hand picked Egyptian cotton that meets industry regulations for environmental safety, ethical production and the use of non – harmful chemicals. We blend the cotton with a Viscose flax, which stems from natural fibres and is processed in order to meet the qualities and abrasion required to satisfy European industry standards for both manufacture and use.
Our products are made locally to us in South East London in small batches so as much as we can, we reduce the movement of our items and the possibility of generating unnecessary energy and material waste.
Our cushions are filled with British wool, supporting the UK farming industry. Wool is naturally hypoallergenic and biodegradable, filled into an organic cotton inner pocket. Wool is lightweight but gives a firm and stable feel.

Research and explorations into the benefits of a tactile surface have lead us to develop a hard wearing stitch technique using thread through paper. Working with a British embroidery house, we are able to embroider directly onto non-woven fire retardant wallpaper, using polyester for high shine to ceramic cotton threads for a flat Matt finish.
The needlework provides a delicate and intricate craftsmanship to the wall coverings. Inviting to the touch and adding tonal elements of a single thread colour dependent on the angle of the viewer. This process has considerably less wastage than any print method and is solely made in the United Kingdom.

Contour is a graphic exploration of line and movement drawn from the boundaries
and divisions of sports courts. Explored through print, the Contour ceramics collection is silk screen printed onto a Vitrified porcelain, this the most durable of dinnerware, fired at a very high temperature, these plates are elegant and durable and will not absorb liquids.

• Vitrified porcelain can be washed in a dishwasher - at a maximum temperature of 60°C. However, where precious metals are used ware should only be hand washed.
• Stubborn stains can be removed by soaking in a mild bleach solution for up to one hour without damaging the china. Scouring pads or abrasive washing agents must not be used. Soaking in warm water before washing will remove most stains or hardened on particles.
• When storing plates, try not to slide them over one another as this may cause tiny scratches in the glaze. We recommend a paper napkin is placed between each plate.
The Oblique collection was developed through the dissection and reduction of blocks of text. Taking influence from the mail art movement in Berlin in the early 1970’s a web of information has evolved into the interweaving of lines in irregular blocks which gently touch and overlap. Explored through print, the oblique glassware collection is a silk screen-printed matte white onto fine soda-lime glass - which is lead free.

Embroidered using a chain stitch labyrinth technique creating an undulating surface to the textile and areas of contrasting dense stitching and quilted felt, this is something the studio have been developing for some time in their wall coverings collections and are excited to see it as a softer and more exaggerated

The Forest Hill Collection A collection of hand printed wallpapers, linens and velvets created in collaboration by South East London based design practices 2LG Studio and Custhom.
Designed as a series of floral textures creating layers for interiors - they were inspired by classic florals, re-imagining them for contemporary interiors and architectural spaces.
The collaboration seeded itself two years ago when 2LG began renovating their Forest Hill home and discovered a fragment of old floral wallpaper beneath several layers of paint and paper. They shared this moment with Custhom and it began to grow into a full collection as the tiny floral stayed in all of their minds.

The Forest Hill Collection A collection of hand printed wallpapers, linens and velvets created in collaboration by South East London based design practices 2LG Studio and Custhom.
Designed as a series of floral textures creating layers for interiors - they were inspired by classic florals, re-imagining them for contemporary interiors and architectural spaces.
The collaboration seeded itself two years ago when 2LG began renovating their Forest Hill home and discovered a fragment of old floral wallpaper beneath several layers of paint and paper. They shared this moment with Custhom and it began to grow into a full collection as the tiny floral stayed in all of their minds.

Made in Stoke On Trent using the finest bone china, CUSTHOM’s ceramics combine quality with graphic finesse. The Curve design is inspired by typography and the interplay between line, pattern and negative space. Each piece has four variations in design, defined by the scale and number of circles present on the cup. The graphic zig-zag pattern creating each design is printed in grey and the hand painted gold rims add the signature CUSTHOM metallic accent.

In a bold royal blue on a French grey background the classic Palladian-style window is expressed with a sharp, graphic rendering. The blocks of rich colour draw focus to the variety of individual forms within the window’s composition, inverting the traditional emphasis on the frame with its geometric lines being defined as negative space.
